Salem's first Steampunk Restaurant opening!

Salem's first Steampunk Restaurant, called Salem Steampunk Sweets & Savories, is slated to open in May of 2012. At the corner of Derby Street and Beckett Street, owners, Bobby, Jack, Adam and Lisa hope to serve the commuters, tourists and Historic Derby Street Neighborhood's breakfast, lunch and dinner needs. With a widely varied menu, with rotating items, we will strive to give the Salem community healthy, amazing, tasty foods, with specialty items like gluten-free, vegan and lactose-free options.

Below are some of the beautiful cupcakes created by our main baker, Bobby. These were a divine bittersweet chocolate cupcake with a chocolate ganache frosting, topped with cocoa powder, powdered sugar or shaved dark chocolate. Needless to say? Those who were lucky enough to try them, were very impressed with the richness and and density of these little beauties!

Adam and Lisa are the savory cooks in the restaurant, and will be creating delicious take-away foods like soups, salads, paninis, tea breads, mini-quiches and dinner foods like coq au vin, gluten-free lasagna, chicken marsala, and prawn pad-thai, just to mention a few...

We hope you will come by for our "soft" opening in May with a grand opening slated around the 4th of July (fireworks for everyone!!)...
